Anyone Care for Some Snow?

feb8 009I had a plan this time dammit!  It was supposed to snow up to a foot over night, and then get around two feet of snow over today.  I was going to get up early, shovel last nights mess, and then do two rounds of shoveling throughout the day today.  Then I wouldn’t be over doing it by shoveling feets and feets of snow, or being stuck with all that snow and not being well enough to go through what I did last time to get rid of it.  That didn’t happen… I slept in and now it’s absolutely insane out and I can barely get my door open!  Now it’s giving me issues shutting too bc of all the snow accumulating in the way and warping the wood!

feb8 006So to start way back to last week end… I went with Amanda and Nick over to their neighbor Carrie’s house.  We had a chocolate fondu party with yummy candy, which I didn’t eat much of bc of the stomach problems, and tons of yummy fruit like kiwi and strawberries.  Mmmm.  I also got to meet and snuggle lots with her three cats Baby, Maxwell, and Merl, and her dog …. shit I forget her name lol.   She’s really cute though.

We all decided to play the dance party game on the Wii which I had never done, and just about killed myself doing.  It was so much fun though!  I was laughing so hard, but they all did really well.  I did two songs.. Nellie Furtado … brain fart on the song, and the Time Warp which was fun as hell to do!

Then later in the week I went to the dentist for a cleaning.  I had been having more sensitivity than usual in a couple teeth, but no cavities thankfully!  And crazy enough, I was able to go through the whole thing without ANY pain!  It was insane!  Even the hygienist who is too sweet thought it was crazy how fast my pain did a turn around, and how well my teeth were doing besides my health issues, medications, etc.  She gave me a free bottle of Sensodyne tooth paste just to put on the two new sensitive spots at night to help with that and sent me on my way!  I’ve never been to the dentist for a cleaning, and not heard about a bunch of cavities, or root exposure, or something bad that required more work that needed to be done.  AWESOME!

My mom is going to be selling her home soon, and she got herself a smaller, new table set from JYSK.  Since they were having crazy sales on their kitchen furniture, she wanted to get it then, but she pulled a muscle in her back again, so she couldn’t lift the table into the house in the box.  I thought it would be dumb to pay almost another $100 on the set just to have them deliver it, when it was doable for me to pick up, so I came up and brought it in with her and my Grams just bringing in the chairs.  I always love putting together furniture.  Yes I’ll swear, and get mad if I have to redo something, and be stubborn about help lol, but I do enjoy doing it!  Nick came over yesterday after school, and helped me put together the one chair.  He was pretty good for figuring out what screws had to go where, and lining the pieces up straight to fit them all in.  I was impressed!  Overall by dinner last night… literally finished just before, mom got to eat at her new table set which was far more comfortable for her to lean against with her pulled back muscle.  It looks really nice, and she picked out good colors for the chairs.

feb8 012I finally got all caught up on the Vampire Diaries, and now since Netflix sucks for being up to date on tv shows, I am going to now catch up on the season that’s going on right now of Sons of Anarchy, and the Walking Dead.

Dad’s finally back from his trip too!  I was complaining all day yesterday wondering when he was coming home bc I missed not being able to call him whenever I wanted, but it was today they flew into Toronto, but sadly they came from Arizona to THIS crap weather!

Ash,

It’s Like A Dairy Queen Blizzard Out There!

I was told it was going to be bad this weekend.  I went and got some groceries yesterday so I didn’t have to attempt to go out in the craziness… and boy is it ever!  I’d say one of the biggest hits we’ve had yet!  But I still have no complaints since I’m not a driver, and I love looking out the window and seeing the beautiful snow everywhere :)   My parking lot is completely snowed in and it doesn’t look like there’s been a snow plow out for our place at all today.  When the snow plow goes by on the road, it blocks the driveway… kind of funny though.  Last year when my mom would come to pick me up, I would have to walk out across the road to meet her lol.

Speaking of weather…  the terrible scary weather over in Australia right now is so sad!  So many people lost, dead, injured, without homes.  I must say speaking of scary happenings over the world, I saw a little tv documentary on how in Haiti, they are using the rubble from the destroyed homes, to build new ones.  I think it’s bitter sweet in the sense they are building the new life from the old.  Still, couldn’t imagine what they are all going through even now :(

My social service worker, Susan, has a cousin that runs a private school up in Switzerland, and they are known for doing skiing classes, and it is very much a part of their curriculum and daily life style there.  Right now however, the entire place is having rain pouring on them, and there is no snow to ski on.  That’s scary!  The first time in 40 years that has happened!

With this time of year comes massive flu outbreaks too, but weirdly enough I haven’t heard anything about it yet really.  Yesterday though, I was reading the news and apparently there are crazier amounts of flu cases this year compared to last year!  Thank God I got a flu shot!

My place is being over taken by boxes… and boxes and boxes… and lots of other boxes.  Susan’s student who’s name I actually know how to spell now, Aarifa, came over and packed stuff from all of the cupboards that are up high, and now pretty much EVERYthing is packed that I’m not already using until it gets closer to the time to move.  All I have left is a few things in the bedroom I want to get rid of, and the couch, which the Salvation Army is coming to pick up at the beginning of February.

My poor dad is sick with Bronchitis, and then he and my step mom are going to their yearly winter trip to Arizona, Las Vegas, etc.  When he gets back, he is going to bring his truck up here and bring my big bed and eliptical trainer to my sister since I can’t use either.  So happy I’ll have my futon back soon :)

I’d been packing the odd box here and there, but every time I try to my Crohn’s kicks in and I have to rest whether I want to fight it or not.  My postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome, is also giving me horrible nausea!  Usually I just get it in the evenings, but lately it’s been all day!  Very sickening to deal with.  I got an anti nausea bracelet, but I don’t find it helps a lot.  Just takes the edge off.

Susan brought me over some arthritis cream to try on my hands, wrists and knees.  It’s all natural so it’s not crazy stinky!  It’s medicinal smelling while your putting it on, and then it goes away!  And it doesn’t get all sticky to your clothes either.  I really like it, it’s nice.  Doesn’t get rid of the pain entirely, but definitely takes the edge off.

Alright, I’m going to head out bc I’m falling asleep as I type and I want to get cleaning some more of the apartment!

Take Care!

Ash,

There’s Snow Not Too Far From Here!

I found out it’s snowing in Barrie!  That is totally awesome lol.  I love the snow!

I have been feeling wiped the last few days.  I think it’s from all of that lack of sleep while having that cold so it kinda wore me out finally.  I am having a really weird crunching feeling in my eyes ears and head… like a head ache sort of.  Hard to explain, but the light makes it worse.

My Crohn’s Disease is doing so much better.  I got an emergency appointment with my G.I.’s for Friday at 1:30, so my Grams is going to take me in.  I really think it was only a set back or warning, not a relapse bc I’m not having the same symptoms, just think that I need to go back on my remission drug Azathioprine.  I don’t take it all the time, but I think my Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome is flaring it up.  I do have nerve damage in my intestines so it’s bound to happen.

I started my Meal on Wheels program on Monday.  They bring food over for Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Fridays.  I have to find a container like thing to have them leave it in for when I am not home.  Very odd lol, that or have someone be here to pick it up when I’m not home on Friday bc of my doctor’s appointment.

I’m going to be selling some of my furniture because of when I move.  I have way too much stuff.  My mom is going to take my bed (I’d rather use my futon) My heart rate goes crazy climbing into bed, and I’m huffing and puffing by the time I’m in there lol. I’m also going to sell two of my end tables and keep the one I got from my grandpa Bruce, and also my love seat.  I doubt I will have room for it and my couch in a new place, and I want to use my new chair!  Right now it’s my computer chair lol.

Tomorrow Marlene my Personal Support Worker comes, and on Thursday, my case manager is coming to set me up with the grab bar for the shower.  I may also be going with my Social Service Worker, Susan, to the YMCA to get my gym membership!  I’m really excited about it so I can go swimming again!

Anyway, I’m going to head out.  My sister is crazy sick with a cold… whoops! LOL.  I’m going to go have a nap and then make some fish for dinner if I’m well enough.

Take Care!
